Taking Medicare Assignment
Most doctors in our area will accept Medicare assignment, which means that their fees are the amount that Medicare will reimburse. Those physicians NOT accepting Medicare assignment are limited by Federal law to charge no more than 15% of the Medicare approved charge. If your doctor does NOT accept Medicare assignment, he may submit your bill to Medicare, but Medicare will send the check to you, and you will then pay the doctor.
